The MR SL 2017 Pageant has come to an end... we officially have a new reigning MR SL, but we will always have Mr. SaianSamuel as MR SL 2016, and the first ever MR SL. A HUGE congratulations to Mr. Colt Jonstone for winning! I know you'll be a great addition to the MR and MISS SL family! It's always a little melancholy at the end of a pageant, so much time and effort goes into putting them together, but you make new friends along they way and then you're happy for the winner and finalists. A huge thank you to Mami Jewel of Azul and Kat Carter of Moondance Boutique for providing my gown and jewelry for the show. I felt beautiful in it for sure!

The MR SL 2017 Pageant is almost at the end... *sad face* There's only the Grande Finale left to do now that today's Press Presentation is over... but the Press Presentation is nothing to frown at for sure, even if things didn't 'quite' go as planned originally, still was a great show! First, we got to go to the MR SL 2017 5th Challenge, which was Halloween themed of course! The guys had to get creative with a Halloween look and use this years Fall Pantone in part of their clothing at least. The Genre event has opened, and this round it's theme is Lovecraft, and as you know, Genre is a great event to shop on a budget! I had a bit of fun styling this, I actually mix-n-matched a bit using the Cthulhu Glamour set in 2 of the Cthulhu colors, as well as using one of the nails for the Shades of Green v2 pallet. Over the Summer, I had the opportunity to cast as a model for Models Giving Back, and for the first round of auditions, they instructed us to wear something that's our favorite, it didn't matter what, so I chose to go with a favorite genre, Casual Chic, and since it was Summer time, I did a warm Summer going out to the beach or board walk type of look, and while pink isn't my favorite color exactly, I really loved how this look came together and I wore it a lot over the Summer. It also helped me move on to Round 2 of the casting, which I'll talk about below. *Smiles*

For Round 2 of the MGB Casting, we were given a bit more of a challenge, the styling theme was Spring/Summer 2016 - Barbara Bui Meets Angel Chen and we were given these links as reference. Barbara Bui SS16 Ready-to-Wear: http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/spring-summer-2016/ready-to-wear/barbara-bui and Angel Chen SS16 Ready-to-Wear: http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/spring-summer-2016/ready-to-wear/angel-chen we then had to take ideas from both lines and create our own look. We also weren't allowed to use a mesh head for this round, so it was also a challenge to make my standard face resemble my mesh face so I still felt like me during the casting! But it is good to have a good base face as well because you never know when you'll need to go meshless, so I'm glad I did that. And while I wasn't one of the lucky ones selected as a model for Models Giving Back, I am glad that I tried my best to do it, because what else is there to do really other than your best?

So, I know I'm a bit late getting this posted, but still worth posting for sure, and I of course want to share my experiences in SL and modeling, so here goes! The MR SL 2017 Pageant, put together by the MISS SL Organization for the men has begun! This was the outfit I wore hosting the first live audition for the Misters, sponsored by the fabulous LUXE Paris. It comes in 5 standard sizes, but it works very well on my Maitreya mesh body. I had quite a lot of fun styling this one too, it's very feminine with vibrant colors in shades of pink, red, orange and purple, blended so beautifully that it stands out. Dress it up and make it formal, or down and make it casual, it works both ways easily! Oh, and a huge congratulations to the men who made it into the pageant officially in this very first audition, I know you'll all do well!

MISS SL Organization hosted a Charity Event sponsoring The Hunger Project with the theme Arabian Nights back in June, and while I know this is a couple of months late, it's still entirely worth talking about! This event included several great acts including live singers, dance acts, a fashion show, and ball, and it was truly amazing to see. Yes, I'm again quite late with this, BUT as I always say, it's better late than never! It's been quite the journey for the MISS SL 2016 contestants, and hopefully it's been a rewarding one for all of them too. For this Grande Finale event, we got to see not one but three fabulous ensembles from the contestants. First we got to see their Victoria's Secret stylings, then we got to see them in their National Costume stylings, and last but certainly not least, we got to see their Formal stylings. It was a long day, lots on anticipation, but we narrowed it down to the top 12, then the top 5, then finally, the winner of MISS SL 2016. Miss Ivyana Szondi has been a fabulous Queen so far and it's been a pleasure to see her continue to shine, but in my personal opinion, every MISS SL 2016 contestant is a shiny gem and will continue to do great things! As for me, well, I'll continue to be around too, just as I was all through the pageant. *Smiles* OH and I almost forgot! Below is the dress I wore hosting the Grande Finale. It's by ISON and has absolutely gorgeous lace detail for the bodice, and the sheer overlay for the top is optional. It came in several colors, and had fits for all the popular mesh bodies out there. *Smiles* I chose black because you can never go wrong with a classic black dress!

Funny story about this ensemble I've got going here. *Grins* So I'm working on a styling to show the jewelry below, which is called Scheherazade, and I thought that these silks by Mirage, called 1001 Nights looked really good with it, so I went with it not really knowing what Scheherazade meant. So while I'm trying to come up with a name that makes sense and suits it, I looked up exactly what Scheherazade is... and behold my shock when Scheherazade is a legendary Persian Queen who told the story of One Thousand and One Nights... Totally an accident but it totally works out!

So anyway, this beautiful new jewelry set is by Moondance Boutique, and comes with a necklace, tikka, bracelet for each wrist, ring for each hand, and 2 types of earrings, with and without the nose chain. The jewelry also has a popup that enables you to change between 8 metal colors, 10 gradient gem colors, and 10 pastel gem colors.

The silks are by Mirage Treasure Co. and they come with system layers for the top and panties, as well as Omega and Lola's appliers, flexy skirt piece, gold belt, and jewelry to match (jewelry is not shown in image below!) so you can wear it with almost every mesh body available as long as there's an Omega converter for it!
